ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NexxLinx Inc. is working to support former soldiers who became disabled while serving in the armed forces and are now seeking opportunities in the civilian workforce. Headquartered in Atlanta, with contact centers in North Carolina, New York, Texas and Colorado, NexxLinx has established a new initiative to increase opportunities in those contact centers for disabled or wounded veterans.

According to The Air Force Times, the unemployment rate for former service members rose in July to 8.4 percent overall and to 11.8 percent for Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans, a sign that an economy that grew only about 17,000 jobs in July while losing 133,000 is not a good place for veterans looking for work.
The Wounded Warrior Project began when several individuals were moved by the difficult stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq and took small, inspired actions to help others in need. The resulting objective was to provide tangible support for the severely wounded and help them on the road to healing, both physically and mentally.
